@John B. Moss: Hey John, thanks for the complement. On BlogDirectory.WS there's an Add Blog button furthest to the right of the gray menu bar. For you they have the arts category in which I think you might fight in the online writing section (http://www.blogdirectory.ws/Art-Blogs/).

I may not be of much help in this area as I'm not too sure of writing/poetry industry. What you could do is find other writing blogs and find which Blogging Directory they link to, as some directories signed up to ones with backlinks to the directories.

If you're looking to build backlinks, leaving tasteful and relevant comments on other writting blogs will be helpful too. I hope this helps you out.

Hi - I visited #12, BlogDirectory.WS, and struggled with the concept of adding my site. The 'Help' page there is blank, as is the 'About' page. [sigh]

I am totally new to all of this, but I am looking for sites like mine and I want to exchange (or view other sites) so as to get an idea how to improve my own.

The problem I had was in identifying a similar category: writing, poetry. How might I find appropriate directories in which to add my site? I Googled 'directories blog' and with 24,200,000 hits I suppose that IS one way to search... but it is hard to narrow down to the writing/poetry category/tags and so I'm looking for a better way to find sites like my own.

I'm enjoying the content of your Blog, Jerry - thanks!

@Renee: Thanks for the compliment. The PR (Page Rank) system is related to SEO. Its a system that allows Google to rank you in terms of relevence to search terms. The numbers are ranked out of 10. One of the considerations for your own pagerank is the quality and PR from the sites linking to your site. I hope that helps.

Just checking out Blog Catalog right now and seems like a pretty good place. I'll add that into the posting. Thanks so much!

Hi - I have a couple of questions. What does the "PR" numbering system stand for? also have you ever heard of or used "Blog Catalog"? I have my blog listed on it and a lot of my visitors come from the listing. Love your blog, by the way! thanks for the great info....
