What you could do is find other writing blogs and find which Blogging Directory they link to, as some directories signed up to ones with backlinks to the directories. The PR (Page Rank) system is related to SEO. Its a system that allows Google to rank you in terms of relevence to search terms. The numbers are ranked out of 10. One of the considerations for your own pagerank is the quality and PR from the sites linking to your site. I hope that helps.
